My journey started many years ago. When I graduated High School, I attended University and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. I decided to pursue further education in Human Resources Management. I had a career for a few years in the HR field but it always felt like something was missing. For me, I wanted more. I wanted to make an impact on people's lives, I wanted to be a source of support to those who felt like they didn't have anyone. I was always fascinated with and passionate about helping people, about helping them work through issues and problems and helping them see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. After becoming pregnant with our second daughter, I chose to go back to school to pursue a degree in Addictions Studies. This was when my journey truly began. I have worked at a Women's shelter for several years now providing support and counseling to women who are fleeing domestic violence. I am blessed and honored to work with these women and to see the transformations they are able to make and to see how resilient they are. I also worked as a counselor for many years working with people who were in the Victim Services Program. The clients I worked with were victims of Domestic violence, Assault and Human Trafficking. The work we did together was truly life changing, for both my clients and for myself.
This brings my journey to present day. I chose to again further my education and return to school to become a Certified Health Coach. Many people have the misconception that this only focuses on health and fitness but there is so much more to it than that. I work with my clients and help them become master's of habit change. I help them improve their overall health and wellness which includes physical, emotional and mental health.
My goal with my clients is to show them that they have the answers within them. The purpose of coaching is to help draw out those answers and to brainstorm with my clients and show them alternative viewpoints. I provide support, compassion and accountability for my clients and show them the care they deserve.
I am able to relate to my clients because "I get it". I understand what it's like to feel like overwhelmed at times, to feel stressed, exhausted and to need someone to talk to. I can help show my clients that there is a way to work through their concerns and that it is ok to ask for help.
I find pleasure and comfort in spending time with my family. I have an amazing husband who is incredibly supportive and 2 beautiful and smart little girls who are the loves of our lives. We enjoy spending time outside together, going snowmobiling in the winter and swimming at the beach in the summer.
